ASCLD/LAB is the largest forensic science accrediting body in the world

As of August 31, 2011, 386 crime laboratories are accredited by ASCLD/LAB. The list of accredited laboratories includes 191 state laboratories, 130 local agency laboratories, 23 federal laboratories, 16 international (outside the United States) laboratories and 25 private.

169 crime laboratories are accredited under the International Testing Program, 6 crime laboratories are accredited under the International Calibration Program, and 211 crime laboratories are accredited under the Legacy Program.
