Course description: This course has been designed to educate forensic service providers about the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the development of the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard, ASCLD/LAB and the ASCLD/LAB–International accreditation program as well as provide tips for how to read and interpret ISO/IEC 17025. In addition, the course will provide information regarding the planning and activities to consider when preparing for formal application for an external assessment. This web-based, self-paced series of courses is designed to supplement internal management practices which a laboratory is expected to have in place to support ASCLD/LAB–International accreditation preparation activities.
Course structure: The course is composed of five modules that will be presented as self-paced, web-based seminars through a software program called Mindflash. Each module is constructed to take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours; however, the participant will be able to move through the module at their own pace. After registering and beginning a module, it will be open for three calendar days. Once you begin a module, you will be able to open and close the session as often as you like within those three calendar days. The modules are structured to be a la carte. That is, you can pick and choose the modules that you want to complete and can complete them in any order. An orientation guide and link to the training will be emailed to the registrant.
