Approved Tests: Controlled substances, crime scene (bloodstain pattern), serology, DNA, firearms, toolmarks, serial number restoration (SNR)*, imprint/impression evidence, fibers, latent prints, paint, glass, flammables (fire debris), questioned documents, and toxicology (blood/alcohol)
*The SNR test cannot be used to satisfy the external proficiency test requirement in the FA/TM discipline when laboratories have full capabilities in the discipline.
7/21/2011: ASCLD/LAB accredits Breath Alcohol calibration laboratories and not Breath Alcohol testing laboratories. The CTS Breath Alcohol Simulator Solution Test is not currently designed as a calibration test and is not considered an ASCLD/LAB approved test for Toxicology proficiency requirements.

Approved Tests: Tape (Duct, Electrical, Etc.), Bulb Examination for On/Off, Microscopic Examination/Comparison of Hair (HAIR1), Microscopic Evaluation of Hair (HAIR2)*, Chemical Unknown/Adulterated Beverage, Gunshot Residue (swab and stub), and Low Order Explosives.
*For laboratories accredited in the screening (non-comparative analysis) of Trace Evidence, the FTS HAIR2 test is an approved proficiency test for a laboratory with limited capabilities in examining hair. If a laboratory is accredited in Trace Evidence and has capabilities beyond the screening of trace evidence, the FTS HAIR2 test cannot be used to satisfy the annual external proficiency test requirement.
